The audio-visual duo OLGAR is a project by Stefan Schäfer (overhead projector) and Christoph Scherbaum (guitar, effects, laptop). OLGAR is creating an emancipated dialogue between image, sound, and space. It is an experiment in translating audio language into visual language and the other way around. Every performance of OLGAR is improvised but based on structures that give each set a distinct character. Olgar aims at researching the possibilities of an active dialogue between image and sound. Circumstances, "spontaneous empirical knowledge" and the hard core of OLGAR form the never ending metamorphosis.
